Nurses

The Lycoming County Historical Society (LCHS) will host a lecture on local World War I nurses on October 11, 2018. The program will be held in the Community Room of the Taber Museum beginning at 10 AM.

LCHS Board of Governors member, Carol Sones Shetler, will present the program. Ms. Shetler has conducted extensive research on the soldiers and nurses of Lycoming County and the surrounding area who served during World War I. She also writes for several regional publications including The Luminary, West Branch Life, and the Journal of the Lycoming County Historical Society.

This program, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Edward J. Smith Post, Muncy; the Bower-Decker Post 251 American Legion, Montgomery; the Garrett Cochran American Legion Post in Williamsport; and Leroy O. Buck Post, Duboistown. As well, it is underwritten by the Woodcock Foundation for the Appreciation of the Arts. The Lycoming County Historical Society is located at 858 West Fourth Street in Williamsport.
